This weekend, our church (Life Baptist Church) is having a special Thanksgiving Worship Service at 4pm on Sunday. We’ll be having a skit, a special song presentation, testimonies, and also a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner afterward. New comers are always welcome so invite your friends. If you would like a ride to church, please contact Tim (timdong@ucla.edu). We provide rides from Weyburn Campus Express bus stop on Sunday at 3:30pm.
We hope to see you all there!
The topic for this week (11/19) is “Purposelessness.”
This is a great supplement to your daily devotion and prayer. A short Bible passage is accompanied by helpful reflections on the verses for each day. Many of us have been using this journal to keep track of our reflections and prayer topics.
We are so quick to forget many of the things we pray for, but this journal has helped me to be reminded of my prayers and how God is faithful in answering them!
You can also access just the devotional text online from our Resources page.
The topic for this week (11/5) is “Self-Control.”
See you all there!
Hope everyone is having a good week.
The topic for this week (10/29) is “Inner Emptiness.”
Pastor Daniel from Life Baptist Church will come and lead the Bible study.
See you there!
Looking for a good tool to help your Bible verse memorization? Here’s a very useful software that I found.
This software is called Memorize His Word and so far it’s the best one I found in the little time I spent looking.
Some of the features that I really find useful are:
- helpful review methods (Review, Recite, and Test)
- good scheduling and reminder system (both daily and periodic)
- ease of adding and categorizing your verses
- unlimited user accounts for your roommates or families (for Home Edition only, not for Online Edition)
- good upgrade policy and group discounts
Unfortunately it’s not free but you are given a 30 day trial period so try it out. I think it’s definitely worth it for the small cost.
See it for yourself here:

We are meeting at the usual place and time for dinner and Bible study this Friday.
The topic for this week (10/22) is “The Desire for Inner Peace.”
See you all there!
Here’s a powerful message by Pastor John Piper. He challenges us to examine ourselves to see whether or not we are wasting our lives and further points us to the Scripture to show what that unwasted life looks like.
