Here’s a powerful message by Pastor John Piper. He challenges us to examine ourselves to see whether or not we are wasting our lives and further points us to the Scripture to show what that unwasted life looks like.
The Forum was a great success! Over 500 people filled two auditoriums on UCLA campus to hear Dr. Os Guinness speak on the topic “The Journey: A Thinking Person’s Quest for Meaning.” We praise God for this amazing work and we are thankful that we were able to take part in preparing for this event.
Update: If you missed the talk, that’s ok! The talk was recorded and is available online here.
In lieu of our normal Friday night bible study this week, we’ll be carpooling together down to Calvary Church of Costa Mesa to hear Dr. Ravi Zacharias speak on the topic: “Need God? What if I Don’t?” We’ll be carpooling together and leaving this Friday evening (1/16/09), so please e-mail me at timdong@ucla.edu to let me know if you are interested in joining us! (It’s coming up quickly, so be sure to let me know soon!)
If you’re not familiar with Dr. Ravi Zacharias, here’s a short snippet from YouTube to give you a quick intro:
We have a tendency to minimize God, while also making ourselves out to be bigger than we really are. The reality, however, is that the Creator of the Heavens is huge beyond our imagination! A friend (thanks Catherine!) recently introduced me to this really powerful talk by Louie Giglio on the topic of “How Great is Our God.” I include the first part here so you can get a taste (the remaining parts are on the link below).
